H.R. 5430

H.R. 5430, reintroduced by Congressman McGovern (MA) with cosponsors Congressman Quigley (IN) and Congresswoman Pressley (MA) dropped Bill H.R.5430 earlier this year. Currently, the Social Security Act does not recognize wigs as durable medical equipment. This coverage for cranial prosthetics (wigs) is not mandated under the Medicare program, the federal health insurance program. High-quality and durable wigs can cost thousands of dollars, often requiring payment upfront. Should this bill pass, wigs will be much more accessible because there will be mandated insurance coverage!
