Exciting advocacy news! Senator Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY] recently co-sponsored bill S.4708, the Senate companion bill for H.R. 5430. As a companion bill, S.4708 seeks to increase the chances of mandating insurance coverage for wigs!
The co-founders of the Alopecia Justice League met with Senator Gillibrand's office in October to advocate for the bill. In sharing our stories and being persistent, Senator Gillibrand signed on to the bill after the Senate reconvened. We sincerely thank Senator Gillibrand and her fantastic office for meeting with constituents and recognizing their voices and concerns.
